A little guidance
Good questions. Less guesswork.
A few answers to help the thoughtful bits fall into place.
Gift Helper
Can I use Gift Helper before creating an account?
Yes. Describe the person, their interests, age range, occasion and budget. Your unsaved brief and shortlist remain in the same browser for seven days. Clearing browser storage or changing browsers may remove access. Saving permanently is an explicit action and needs a verified account.
Can I add a product I found myself?
Gift Helper is for finding AI gift suggestions and shortlisting your favourites. Add your own products directly in Buying Planner or Wishlists, where you can enter a product link and details.
What happens when I save my shortlist?
Save list creates or reuses an occasion, recipient and their Buying Planner list. It does not create a wishlist. Recipients are reusable profiles; changing their details updates the profile used throughout your account. Existing saved gift details and spending remain their original records.
What is the difference between Try more and Explore more?
Try more ideas asks for another batch with the same context and feedback. Explore more ideas also applies the guidance you type. A thumbs up or down helps steer suggestions; adding to your shortlist also counts as positive feedback. Start a new brief for a different person or fresh context.
Why are prices indicative, or fewer than three ideas shown?
Prices and stock are observations, not checkout promises. We aim to find three useful products, but may return fewer when reliable details cannot be established. Check the exact option, availability, shipping and final price at the retailer. A batch returning any valid suggestions uses one AI request, including a partial batch. Empty or failed batches do not use an allowance request.
Buying Planner
Where do occasions, people and budgets fit?
Create an occasion, then one buying list for each person. Each list has its own AUD budget. The combined shopping view shows the same underlying gifts across those lists. Budget warnings do not stop you adding or choosing a gift. Retailer shipping is not included unless you explicitly record it in your amounts.
Does opening a retailer mark a gift bought?
No. Idea, Planned and Bought are choices you record. Opening a buying link or choosing a retailer does not change a purchase, reservation or recorded spend. You buy through the retailer and use their own checkout and delivery terms.
Wishlists & reservations
How are wishlists different from buying lists?
A wishlist is a list you curate for yourself and can share with others. It has no Buying Planner recipient or occasion relationship. Its surprise setting controls whether you can see reserved/bought quantities and dates. It never shows you the shopper’s name or email.
Do people need an account to reserve a gift?
No. Reserving asks for a name and email, both required, but no sign-in or email verification. Keep the separate private management link. An unpurchased hold expires seven days after reservation; marking bought is a shopper report, not a verified retailer purchase. Bought quantities do not expire like temporary holds.
I lost my private reservation link. What now?
Use the recovery option on the shared wishlist with the email you originally supplied. You may need the owner’s current sharing link if they changed it. Recovery does not reinstate or extend an expired hold. Do not send private reservation links through Contact; support cannot bypass the reservation recovery checks.
Sharing
Can people search for my lists?
Shared pages are kept out of search indexing instructions and require their unguessable link. This is not a password or a promise of secrecy: someone with the link can open it and may forward it. Share carefully, and turn sharing off or rotate the link when needed. A private reservation management link is separate and must be kept private.
Accounts & plans
What are the Free and Plus limits?
Free includes one active occasion and one wishlist, with a finite AI allowance shown in Plan & usage. Plus costs A$10 per month and includes unlimited occasions and wishlists with a larger AI allowance. Your current balance and reset time are shown in your account. No GST is added. Pro is not currently offered.
What happens when I archive an occasion or Plus ends?
Archiving the usable Free occasion frees its active slot; restoring needs an available slot. Archived content is read-only. After Plus ends, older occasions and wishlists can be locked read-only until renewal, without deleting them. Archiving a wishlist does not create another Free wishlist entitlement.
How do I stop renewal or recover a deleted account?
Use Plan & usage to request cancellation at the paid period’s end. Account deletion immediately disables normal access and sharing and starts a seven-day recovery window. Sign in again during that window to recover. Recovery leaves sharing off and renewal cancelled until you explicitly enable them. Permanent cleanup starts after the recovery deadline.
Getting help
What should I include in a support message?
Choose a topic, describe what you expected and what happened, and include the page name and approximate time. Do not include passwords, verification codes, card details, private links or another person’s personal information. Your message is stored for support; the reference is not a public tracking link. For an order, delivery or retailer refund, contact the retailer first.
